Cambridge City Council

Neighbourhood clean-up events

We often bring recycling bins and skips to local neighbourhoods around the city, to help clear communal areas.

You can bring your household and garden waste to the bins. We can collect large items such as sofas and washing machines, and might be able to help clear your garden.

Our recycling champions usually attend the events to answer your questions about what you can recycle, along with a fire safety officer whenever possible.

There’s usually a ‘take it or leave it’ stall where you can recycle or exchange unwanted items, too.

You must put what you bring into the correct bin or skip, as you would at a household recycling centre – ask if you’re not sure where to put it. You could be prosecuted for flytipping if you leave rubbish in a public place.

Event dates

We will deliver a leaflet with the full details of the event to local residents.

All events are organised by our City Services team unless stated otherwise.
