Grand Arcade car park is the nearest multi-storey car park to the city centre, colleges and the river. It has been awarded Park Mark status.

• Open Monday to Sunday, 24 hours a day
• Short-stay pay-on-foot car park – you cannot reserve a space in advance
• Height limit: 1.98 metres (6 feet, 6 inches)
• 953 car spaces including:
  • 35 Blue Badge bays on level 2 and level -1
  • 10 parent-and-child bays on level 2
  • Two parent-and-child bays on level -1
• 200 bike spaces in the separate cycle park next door
• You can borrow a scooter from Shopmobility
• Motorcycles are not allowed
• Coaches are not allowed — use Madingley Road Park & Ride

Charges

An ‘off-peak’ tariff applies unless you arrive during the ‘peak-time’ tariff hours. It’s free to park here in the evening and overnight.

The cost of your ticket depends on the days, time and number of hours you park for. The payment machine will calculate the price when you leave. If your stay extends across more than one tariff​, it will add the costs from each one together.

You can pay by card, Android Pay or Apple Pay at the payment machines or at the exit. You can pay with cash at the payment machines but not at the exit.

Blue Badge holders can claim three hours’ free parking. The standard tariff will apply after the free hours. You must scan your badge when you pay – the machine will reduce the cost of your stay when you pay.

If you lose your ticket, we will charge you from 8am on the day you entered the car park.

Off-peak tariff

The off-peak tariff applies between 8am and 6pm, unless you arrive between 8 and 10am.

Peak-time tariff

The peak-time tariff applies for the duration of your stay until 6pm if you arrive between:

• 8 and 10am on weekdays
• 11am and 1pm on weekends

We introduced the tariff to encourage you to come into Cambridge using other methods of travel. It also aims to encourage visiting at less busy periods of the day.

Evening and overnight parking

It’s free to park here in the evenings and overnight between 6pm and 8am.

Bank holidays

Normal daily rates apply on bank holidays. 

Accessible restroom

There is a Changing Places toilet and accessible restroom on level -1 of the car park. It has a toilet, shower, hoist and changing bed.

Ask for a key at the nearby Shopmobility and customer services office.
