Buying a leasehold property

If you are considering buying a leasehold property on the open market we encourage you to make enquiries via your solicitor.

We can provide a sales enquiry pack, which will provide you with all the relevant information you’ll need about the property.

There is a charge of £110 for the enquiry pack. Please post a cheque payable to ‘Cambridge City Council’ to Home Ownership Services, Cambridge City Council, 171 Arbury Road, Cambridge CB4 2YG. We’ll send you the pack within five working days of receipt of your payment.

If you’re purchasing a leasehold property as an investment and intend to rent it out, check our advice on subletting your leasehold property.

The majority of our leasehold properties have more than 90 years remaining on their leases. The seller can tell you exactly how long is left on the lease of the property you are thinking of buying.
