Annual canvass

Every year we conduct a canvass of the residential households in Cambridge to make sure that the data we hold in the register of electors is correct and up to date.

The 2024 canvass is taking place between September 2024 and January 2025.

Please visit our canvass response website to confirm the name and nationality of each person in your household. You will need the two-part security code in the email or text message that we have sent you. Only one person in your household needs to submit a response.

If you have moved away from Cambridge, you can also let us know using the above link.

If you add any new people, they will also need to register to vote. We will send each new person a form if they do not apply online.

If you or someone in your household has recently registered to vote, you must still respond to this enquiry, but do not need to register again.

If a property does not respond to our request for information, we will attempt to make further contact, which could include sending one of our electoral canvassing staff to your address.

Use of your email address or phone number

We have contacted you via email or text as you have previously provided us with your contact details. We only use them to contact you about registration and voting and do not pass them on to anybody else.

You have the right to object to the use of your contact details for the purposes of electoral registration. If you no longer want to be contacted in this way, please contact us and ask to unsubscribe.

You can read more about how we use your data in our privacy notice [PDF, 0.1MB], and find out more about elections and voting.
