Help for disabled council tenants

If you become disabled or have problems getting around your home, we can help by providing grab rails, banisters or lever taps.

If you need larger adaptations, you may need a referral from an occupational therapist. For more information, contact the adaptations officer.

If you are older or disabled, we can also help you with:

  • making your home more secure
  • gardening

Please contact customer services at your local office.

We provide an emergency call service for older or disabled tenants.

The service allows you to call for help at any time, day or night, from our mobile wardens or from any of the emergency services.

Grass-cutting service

If you are a council tenant and are unable to cut your grass, we can do it for you.

If you are eligible, we will mow your lawn once per month between 1 April and 31 October. The service does not include any other gardening services.

This service has limited availability, so we need to make sure it benefits the people with the greatest need.

  • You must be at least 18 years old and be a council tenant living inside the city boundary.
  • You must have a disability and provide proof of receiving a corresponding benefit.
  • You must live alone, or only with other people who also qualify for the service.
  • You must have no family within a 10-mile radius who can help you.

Contact us to discuss your circumstances and request an application form.

We provide this service in partnership with CGM Group East Anglia Limited.
