Cambridge City Council

Biodiversity emergency

We passed a motion to declare a biodiversity emergency in May 2019.

We recognise the importance of a healthy and biodiverse environment for the city’s future prosperity and the wellbeing of all who live, work and study here.

The motion sets out how we aim to reverse the decline in biodiversity in and around Cambridge.

We have pledged to provide leadership and to work with local organisations and communities to deliver measurable biodiversity net gain.
