We manage more than 80 parks and open spaces across the city, covering more than 740 hectares.
Some of these sites, such as our 12 local nature reserves, are designated and managed primarily for nature, while others are predominantly recreational spaces.
We have an obligation and opportunity to ensure that these spaces maximise their potential for biodiversity and provide good examples of habitat management and creation. We hope our work will encourage other landowners to do the same.
Our Biodiversity Duty Report shows the steps we’re taking to protect wildlife and improve habitats across the city.
We publish this report in accordance with Section 40 of the Natural Environment and Rural Communities Act 2006.
