Akeman Community Centre

Akeman Community Centre
80 Akeman Street, Cambridge CB4 3HG
Akeman Community Centre
Office hours: 9am to 1pm, Monday to Friday

Akeman Community Centre is in the heart of Arbury in north Cambridge. The brand new building was finished in June 2021.

We plan to open for the community to use and hire from the beginning of October. This is subject to the government’s coronavirus guidance at that time, and to all the furniture arriving.

The centre has two rooms, both of which have access to the garden and patio. There is also a fully equipped kitchen.

  • Room 1 has space for 30 seats or standing room for 40 people. It has a sprung floor, so is ideal for exercise classes.
  • Room 2 has space for 18 seats or standing room for 25 people.
  • Both rooms have Wi-Fi and a projector, screen, and speakers.

You can book either of the rooms and the kitchen for groups, parties and events. Contact us to find out more about room bookings.

The centre’s office hours are 9am to 1pm, Monday to Friday. The rooms are bookable at other times.

Access

The centre has level access throughout. There is an accessible toilet, and both rooms have a hearing loop system.

The centre has baby-changing facilities.

Transport and parking

There is one disabled-parking space outside, and space to lock your bike.

The Citi 1 and Citi 8 buses stop nearby – check bus times on the Traveline website.

There is limited on-street parking nearby.
