Abbey pool complex

The Abbey pool complex includes two swimming pools, an outdoor interactive splashpad, recently refurbished gym, sauna, astroturf pitch and grass football pitches.

  • The larger pool is 25 metres long with five swimming lanes. It ranges in depth from 1.2 to 1.75 metres.
  • The smaller learner pool is 12 metres square and is 0.8 metres deep throughout.
  • The new gym is also now open with state of the art Techno Gym equipment installed throughout.

The complex is managed by GLL in partnership with the Council.

Refurbishment works are now complete and our exciting splashpad is now open for the summer season.

The splashpad operates from 10am-6.00pm everyday.

The splashpad is open for the summer and will close on Sunday 14th September 2014.

Updates and closures

We occasionally need to close some of our parking areas. Whenever we do so, we will post information as early as possible in the service updates bar to the right, as well as our Twitter and Facebook pages.

Getting to the pools

Cycle parking is available outside the main entrance and buses stop nearby on Whitehill Road.

The county council provides bus timetable information, or you can plan your journey to the pool with Transport Direct.

By car, turn off Newmarket Road into Whitehill Road and take the third turning on the right into Pool Way. The pool is located at the bottom of this road on the right-hand side.

There is parking space for over 200 vehicles, including four bays for disabled people and space for three coaches.
