The below statement was made by the Leader of Cambridge City Council, Cllr Cameron Holloway, on the Manchester terrorist incident:
"I am deeply shocked and saddened by the terrorist attack at Heaton Park Synagogue in Manchester on Yom Kippur, the holiest day in the Jewish calendar.
"This appalling act of violence has brought grief not only to Manchester’s Jewish community, but to Jewish people everywhere. On behalf of Cambridge City Council, I want to express our condolences to the victims and their families, and our solidarity with all those affected.
"We are grateful to Manchester’s emergency services and local authority colleagues for their swift and compassionate response.
"At moments like this, it is vital that we stand together against hatred, and reaffirm our commitment to ensuring that all communities feel safe, respected, and supported. I know the people of Cambridge will join me in expressing our support and solidarity at this difficult time."
