THE Mayor's Day Out has been an annual event for over three decades, with thousands of Cambridge’s over 55s having visited seaside destinations by coach.

The popular day trip is run by Cambridge City Council, with over 55s invited to join for £10.

This summer’s destination is the traditional seaside town of Great Yarmouth, famed for its beautiful seafront, traditional shops and cafes and Golden Mile of sandy beach. Boasting two piers and traditional attractions including donkey rides, crazy golf and fish and chips, plus the Merrivale Miniature Village.

The £10 includes return coach travel (with several pick up and drop off points throughout Cambridge), and live music from Under the Covers performing classic hits from the 1950s, 1960s and 1970s in the Anchor Gardens on the seafront.

The day out can be a good opportunity to catch up with old friends, meet new people and enjoy the seaside in good company.

You can book online, or by phone 01223 357851 (10am to 5pm, Monday to Friday). Bookings close on Friday 14 July.
