CAMBRIDGE has today joined the rest of the country and the Commonwealth to celebrate the coronation of His Majesty King Charles III and the Queen Consort.

Cllr Mark Ashton, Mayor of Cambridge, said: “The King’s coronation has been a momentous occasion and a great day for the nation. I would like to pass on my congratulations to His Majesty the King and the Queen Consort on behalf of the people of Cambridge.

“The new King has long enjoyed close links with our great city, with some of our residents fondly remembering the period he spent here as a young man while studying for his degree at the University of Cambridge. It has been an honour to represent the city at numerous events taking place here this weekend as people in Cambridge come together to celebrate.

“The city of Cambridge wishes His Majesty King Charles a long and successful reign.”
