In response to an enquiry from the media we issued the following response about Clay Farm Centre.
A spokesperson for Cambridge City Council, said “We are working with bpha to ensure that tenants are properly supported, and our Estates and Facilities team is continuing work to resolve the boiler issue.
“Engineers have visited the boiler twice a day over the weekend to ensure that they are working until a more permanent repair can be made. The council is working with the manufacturer to ensure that this repair is carried out as quickly as possible.
“The boiler has run intermittently over the weekend with intervention from the engineers meaning that residents have been able to use their heating and hot water but with some disruptions.”
The executive councillor leading on this matter is Cllr Mike Davey (Labour), Executive Councillor for Finance, Resources and Transformation. Spokespersons for the other political groups on this issue are Cllr Tim Bick (Liberal Democrat) and Cllr Naomi Bennett (Green/Independent Group).
