THE flag is being flown at half-mast over the Guildhall in Cambridge as the city and the nation mourns the sad news of the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
Cllr Mark Ashton, Mayor of Cambridge, said: “The news of the death of Her Majesty The Queen is a matter of deep regret and sorrow for the people of Cambridge and for the nation as a whole.
“We join people around the country and the world, in mourning Her Majesty’s passing and remembering with deep affection her remarkable reign and legacy.
“On behalf of the residents of Cambridge, I extend our city’s heartfelt condolences to the members of the Royal Family.”
A book of condolence will open at The Guildhall tomorrow at 9am. An online book of condolence is also available.
