Grave maintenance

We will regularly cut the grass on and around the grave. For the first two years after the burial we will top up the soil in the grave as the ground settles.

It is your responsibility to keep any graves you own clean and tidy, including any plants on them. If necessary we will consider reinstating unkept traditional graves to lawn graves.

You are also responsible for arranging and paying for any repair work that is needed on headstones or memorials on any grave you own. We check them regularly to protect the safety of visitors to our cemeteries, and will contact you if we have any concerns.

Please consider the type of memorials you leave on the grave. Delicate memorabilia is at risk of breaking and can cause harm to people or wildlife. Valuable items are at risk of being stolen – we cannot accept responsibility for this.
