Cambridgeshire Older People's Enterprise is a voluntary organisation comprising Cambridgeshire residents aged 50+. It fulfils various important health-related functions for older people, including social contact, friendship support, policy influencing and information-giving to members.
LGBT
The Kite Trust offers support to young lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender (LGBT) people, and those who are unsure of their sexual orientation or gender identity. They provide opportunities for skills development, self-advocacy, inclusion and representation within the wider community.
The Pink Festival is a summer diversity event held in Cambridge organised by the city’s lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community.
Diamonds is a friendly and informal transgender support and social group based in Cambridge, open to anyone with an interest in transgender issues.
Ethnicity
Cambridge Ethnic Community Forum provides racial equality services to individuals and groups to help promote an understanding between people from different ethnic groups. It helps them be a natural part of Cambridge life.
Faith
Cambridge Gurdwara acts as a focal point for the Sikh community in Cambridge, conducting a programme of activities fully in line with established Sikh protocols.
Cambridge Mosque aims to create an environment for the Muslim community in Cambridge. It will allow them to worship and access community development initiatives in the areas of health, education, employment, social and cultural interaction.
Masjid Al Ikhlas and Cambridge Islamic Centre aim to promote the ethos of brotherhood and sisterhood with a mix of prayer, education, cultural and lifestyle activities.
Beth Shalom is the largest Jewish congregation in East Anglia; the Synagogue has a wide mixture of members, made up of families, single people of all ages and students.
Cambridge Traditional Jewish Congregation is an independent orthodox community that holds traditional services with a relaxed, friendly and open style, and aims to be inclusive and welcoming.
The Omar Faruque Mosque and Cultural Centre aims to look after the needs of the Muslim community in the north of Cambridge, with its Mosque (Masjid) located in Arbury.
Women
Women's Aid is the national charity for women and children working to end domestic abuse.
Cambridge Rape Crisis Centre is a confidential listening, support and information service for women and girls who have experienced sexual violence of any kind. It also supports their friends, family or professionals supporting survivors.
Cambridge Women’s Resources Centre is an accessible women’s community space located in the Mill Road area. They provide practical support and advice on issues such as career development, debt and financial concerns, and family and parenting issues. And they provide a mix of informal groups, workshops and networking events.
Men
Choices offer a confidential counselling service in Cambridge and surrounding areas for women and men whose lives are affected by childhood sexual abuse.
Disability
Cam Sight is a registered charity working with blind and partially sighted people of all ages in Cambridgeshire.
Cambridgeshire Deaf Association provides services for deaf people across Cambridgeshire, as well as deafness-related training.
Pinpoint Cambridgeshire is an independent information, support and parental involvement network. It is run by parents, and works for all parents and carers across Cambridgeshire, especially those with children with additional needs and disabilities.
The Papworth Trust is a leading disability charity providing a range of high quality services for disabled and disadvantaged people and campaigning for changes that disabled people want.
Sexual health
Dhiverse promotes sexual health and wellbeing for all. They aim to reduce the spread of HIV and improve the quality of life of people affected by it. They challenge the stigma surrounding HIV and AIDS.
Young people
Centre 33 exists to help people up to the age of 25 in Cambridgeshire fulfil their potential. They provide a range of free and confidential services to empower young people to overcome their problems.
Our Children and Young People’s Participation Service works with children and young people across the city to organise activities in local neighbourhoods.
