Cycling and walking promotion grants

Grants of up to £5,000 are available for groups to fund work that promotes cycling and walking in the city.

Funding totalling just over £11,000 is available, with grants awarded throughout the year.

Grants will be considered for groups that can show they will:

  • encourage new cyclists
  • encourage people to cycle or walk more often
  • promote safer cycling and/or walking
  • reduce cycle theft.

Apply for a grant

It's important that you read the application guidelines [PDF, 17KB] carefully before you complete and return the application form [RTF, 156KB].

Return your completed application form to john.richards@cambridge.gov.uk. Or post it to Cycling and Walking, Cambridge City Council, PO Box 700, Cambridge CB1 0JH.

After your application is received and acknowledged, it will be considered by the council's Cycling and Pedestrian Steering Group, which meets three or four times a year. This group decides whether or not to approve applications and applicants are informed shortly afterwards.
