The planning applications for the Civic Quarter project were considered at Planning Committee on 25 March 2026.
The applications relating to the Guildhall and Corn Exchange were approved. The applications relating to the Market Square and public realm were deferred to allow the project team to refine elements of the proposals – relating to road safety, cycle parking and traffic regulation orders – before being brought back to Planning Committee for determination.
Amended plans have now been submitted to the Greater Cambridge Shared Planning (GCSP) service.
The amended plans are subject to a 14 day consultation that ends on 14 July 2026. Everyone who commented on the original application will have been notified by GCSP.
- Market Square and Public Realm: Main application (Amended)
- Market Square: Planning and Listed Building Consent (Amended)
The planning application will be considered by Planning Committee on 29 July 2026.
