Christmas gifts for families in need

This December, we will work with our partners Cambridge City Food Bank and Cambridge Sustainable Food to provide much-needed support to local families. Based on requests from groups and organisations across the city, we hope to help around 800 families.

We’ll send a food parcel to each family, including fresh food to help them provide a good meal at Christmas. It will also have a range of traditional goods like puddings, biscuits and treats, which most of us take for granted, and where possible a game or toy.

Some of the packages will be distributed at food hubs and events held by local groups and organisations, and some will be delivered direct to families.

How to support the appeal

You can donate games and gifts via Lighthouse Toys or our John Lewis gift wishlist. Feel free to use other suppliers as preferred, but please buy family games or non-gendered items that are suitable for toddlers.

Deliver your gifts to Brown’s Field Community Centre, 31A Green End Road, Cambridge CB4 1RU. Lighthouse Toys will deliver to this address for free.

You can also drop off gifts during opening hours to:

  • Clay Farm Community Centre, Hobson Square, Trumpington, Cambridge CB2 9FN
  • Meadows Community Centre, 299 Arbury Road, Cambridge CB4 2JL
  • NatWest, 21 Petty Cury, Cambridge CB2 3NE
