Self-built and custom-built property register
The Self-Build and Custom Housebuilding Act 2015 places a duty on local councils in England to keep and have regard to a register of people who are interested in self build or custom build projects in their area. This register will help inform the council of the level of demand for self build and custom build plots in Cambridge and enable the council to develop a strategy for matching people to plots in their area.
Registering your interest
We are working in partnership with South Cambridgeshire District Council to provide a register of people interested in custom self build properties, so we can identify the number and location of plots of land required. If you wish to register, please complete the online form (you will be redirected to a South Cambridgeshire District Council webpage).
The Councils' register will also help bring together groups of households who want to custom build homes in the same area. This enables people to work together to split costs and uncertainties which often makes it more viable to take on.
If you have any queries about the registration, please contact South Cambridgeshire District Council by email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 01954 713511.
