Report an abandoned shopping trolley

There are two ways to report an abandoned trolley.

You can use the Trolleywise app on your phone to upload a photo of an abandoned shopping trolley. The app can be used at the following stores:

  • Aldi
  • Asda
  • B&Q
  • Iceland
  • Marks & Spencer
  • Sainsbury’s
  • Tesco

To report an abandoned trolley at another store, or if you are unable to use the app, please email us at sosvolunteers@cambridge.gov.uk with the following details:

  • Which store it is from
  • Where it is
  • When you last saw it

Stores have until 5pm the next day to retrieve their trolley. If they do not do so, we impound the trolley and give the store six weeks to claim it. After that, we recycle the trolley and charge the store for any costs incurred.

We can impound any trolleys that are left in the road, on play areas or areas with high footfall, or with fly-tipped rubbish.
