Customers asked to not take items to recycling points

These cannot currently be emptied so please do not take items to recycling points until further notice. We apologise for any inconvenience.

Collect a caddy for your food waste

We provide free kitchen caddies for collecting food waste to put in your green bin or on your compost heap.

If you live in Cambridge, you can collect a caddy from our offices. We also sell packs of liner bags.

  • You can collect a caddy and buy liner bags at our customer service centre and City Homes office.
  • You can collect a caddy from the Guildhall reception, but liner bags are not available there.
  • You can buy liner bags from the Clay Farm Centre, but caddies are not available there.
  • Check our office locations and opening times

The liner bags cost £3 for a pack of 50 – you can only buy one pack at a time. We only sell them to Cambridge residents, so might ask you to show proof of your address.

If you buy liner bags elsewhere, you should only use 100% paper bags – it’s also fine to use newspaper. Do not use plastic or cornstarch liner bags – they break down too slowly for our composting process.
