Many people in Cambridge have given their time to support others during the coronavirus pandemic. Many more people have benefited from this support.
Individuals, community groups and organisations, and businesses have all helped. They have delivered medication and meals, made scrubs and masks for front-line staff, and much more.
The mayor has launched the Volunteer for Cambridge Awards to recognise these people.
“Coronavirus continues to present a significant challenge to us all. There are many people in Cambridge who have needed additional help and support during these difficult times and I have been humbled by those who have come forward to help in countless different ways. I would like to know more about the kindness, support and commitment so many have given, and may still give, and to say thank you to you all.” – The Mayor, Cllr Russ McPherson
