Volunteer for Cambridge Awards

Many people in Cambridge have given their time to support others during the coronavirus pandemic. Many more people have benefited from this support.

Individuals, community groups and organisations, and businesses have all helped. They have delivered medication and meals, made scrubs and masks for front-line staff, and much more.

The mayor has launched the Volunteer for Cambridge Awards to recognise these people.

“Coronavirus continues to present a significant challenge to us all. There are many people in Cambridge who have needed additional help and support during these difficult times and I have been humbled by those who have come forward to help in countless different ways. I would like to know more about the kindness, support and commitment so many have given, and may still give, and to say thank you to you all.” – The Mayor, Cllr Russ McPherson

We want you to tell us about the amazing people who have helped you or your community. You can also tell us what you, your business or community group or charity have done to help others.

You can nominate volunteers in 4 categories:

  • Individual volunteer
  • Community group and voluntary or charity organisation
  • Business
  • Young volunteer (aged under 18)

You can submit nominations at any time. The mayor will consider nominations every 6 weeks and decide the level of any award. Awards might include a certificate or other form of recognition.
