Cambridge City Crematorium closed for face-to-face meetings

In light of official advice relating to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, the Bereavement Service is taking steps to ensure the welfare of visitors and staff while maintaining as many of our usual services as possible for people who have recently been bereaved.

Our office at Cambridge City Crematorium on Huntingdon Road will be closed to the public for face-to-face meetings until further notice. If you have any concerns or questions you can still contact us as normal for assistance and advice by phoning 01223 458000 or emailing bereavementservices@cambridge.gov.uk

We’re encouraging all people attending our services to follow government advice on social distancing and self-isolation. Please consider limiting the number of attendees to immediate family such as spouses or partners, parents, carers, siblings, and children and their partners.

For those people sadly unable to attend cremations or burials at this time, we are able to offer the option via funeral directors of recording them on video, with copies to be made available the day after.

Due to supplier shortages, we are currently unable to offer some services including witnessed scatterings, and arranging memorials but again we will be very happy to speak to you about these matters by phone or email.

We wish you the very best at this difficult time and thank you for your cooperation and understanding.
