THE date of a Cambridge City Council by-election in Trumpington ward has been set for Thursday 18 August.

A casual vacancy in the ward was created following the resignation of former city councillor, Alan Cox, on 28 June.

Trumpington residents wishing to vote in the by-election who are not already on the electoral register should register by Tuesday 2 August.

People can register to vote online if they have their National Insurance number to hand – a process which will only take a few minutes. Anyone without access to the internet can request a paper registration form by phoning the council on 01223 457048.
