Installation of electric vehicle charge points
We are installing rapid-charge points at three of our car parks and on Newmarket Road. The charging points will support a transition to lower-emission taxis, as part of our work to improve air quality in Cambridge.
The points will be capable of charging two vehicles simultaneously. They will typically be able to charge an electric vehicle from 0% to 80% battery capacity in half an hour.
Initially, the points will serve electric taxis only.
Our delivery partners, eVolt and Electric Blue, are currently installing two points in Adam and Eve Street car park. Work is scheduled to take place between 9am and 5pm, and is expected to be completed in early June.
We are aiming to keep disruption to a minimum, and apologise for any inconvenience caused by the installation work.
