There are different tests you can take to check whether you have coronavirus. The test you need depends on your current circumstances.
If you have any of the three coronavirus symptoms you can book a PCR test online or by phoning 119. The symptoms are a high temperature; a new, continuous cough; and the loss of or a change to your sense of smell or taste.
The test site is in the overflow car park near the Abbey leisure centre on Pool Way, off Whitehill Road. It is open every day from 8am to 8pm. Do not visit the test site if you do not have an appointment.
Anyone can take a rapid coronavirus test. If you have any symptoms of coronavirus, use the link above instead of this rapid test.
Tests are available at the Meadows Community Centre on St Catherine’s Road. You can make an appointment to visit, but you do not need to.
The county council’s rapid community testing webpage explains more about the tests.
You can order a kit to test yourself at home – make sure you report the results as instructed. You can take a rapid lateral flow test if you do not have any symptoms, do not need to self-isolate, and are over 11.
The kits are available from most pharmacies and test sites. Use the NHS coronavirus test finder to find out where you can collect a kit from.
You can also order rapid lateral flow home test kits on the government website or by phoning 119.
