Coronavirus: Changes to our services

We have put contingency plans in place to address the impact of coronavirus on our services. We remain open for business and will continue to change and adapt our services and as the situation develops.

Service updates

Our customer service reception points at Mandela House, Arbury Road and the Guildhall are closed.

Some of our services are unable to collect and respond to correspondence sent by post, or to process payments made by cheque. Please check the relevant service’s information on this website before contacting us by post.

Please send any mail for our Housing team to PO Box 700, Cambridge CB1 0JH while the City Homes office is closed.


The Corn Exchange is closed, and all events are being reviewed. There’s no need to contact the box office – they will contact everybody who has bought a ticket to advise about new dates and refunds.


Some of our swimming pools have reopened, and some remain closed. We kept our paddling pools, water play areas and splashpads closed over the summer.

Buchan Street Neighbourhood Centre is closed – it is temporarily being used as a centre for emergency food aid and supplies.

Scrapstore is closed until further notice.


We are booking emergency and minor housing repairs only for council tenants.


Some public toilets are closed because the buildings do not allow for safe social distancing.


The crematorium is closed to the public, other than for close family members to attend funeral services. The cemeteries on Huntingdon Road and Newmarket Road are also closed.


Our Arts Distribution Service is not offering leaflet or indoor poster distribution until further notice. Please contact us before making a booking for outdoor poster panels.


We're holding virtual committee meetings where practicable – check the committee meeting calendar if you are planning to attend one.


Our pest control service is booking appointments for outdoor assessment and treatment only.


We have postponed or cancelled a number of events, such as community environment days.
