Make a subject access request

Under the Data Protection Act you have a right to a copy of the information we hold about you. Requesting this information is known as making a subject access request.

Subject access requests must be made in writing. Download the subject access request form [PDF] or request a form from the Customer Service Centre or Guildhall reception.

A fee of £10 is payable for subject access requests. Cheques should be made payable to Cambridge City Council.

Return the completed form and payment to the Customer Service Centre or Guildhall reception. We must check your identity before we can process your request, so bring proof of your identity (passport, driver's licence etc).

Next steps

We will take a copy of your form, check your proof of identity and issue you with a receipt for your application and the fee. The request will be passed to the Data Protection Officer, who will send you a copy of the information we hold about you within 40 days.

Once you have received your information you should check it. If any of the information we hold about you is wrong you can ask us to correct it or remove it.
