Consultation open from 17 November 2021 to 9 January 2022.
Councillors have approved using developer contributions (also known as ‘S106 funding’) to install environmental and biodiversity enhancements to the boundary of Trumpington recreation ground. The funds are available because of the new homes being built in the area.
We have developed proposal plans for a range of elements around the playing field that will benefit both people and wildlife. Proposed improvements include:
- 20 new trees planted around the edge of the playing field
- 5 or more ‘biodiversity banks’ including wildflower planting, habitats for bees, butterflies and invertebrates and informal seating
- New seating
- Map of the proposed enhancements [PDF, 0.3MB]
Have your say
Our online survey shows the proposed enhancements and asks you to tell us which you would support. It should take less than 5 minutes to complete.
If you have any questions about the proposals or survey, contact us at projectdevelopment@cambridge.gov.uk. The survey closes on 9 January 2022.
Next steps
We will consider all responses to the survey and produce a final plan that reflects the feedback.
We expect work to install the enhancements to begin by the autumn of 2023.
