The Cambridge Community Collection - apple tree planting consultation

Consultation runs from

7 May 2017, 12:01am to 28 May 2017, 11:59pm

Introduction and background

Apple trees of every variety from within the United Kingdom, approximately 1,200, will be planted in a range of locations south of Cambridge city centre over the next few years.

The vision is to plant as many varieties as possible, as part of a uniquely designed linear orchard marking routes between the new developments south of the city and the city centre. The result will be a collection of trees to be nurtured, maintained and enjoyed by the community.

Consultation information

We are proposing to plant a number of these apple trees within existing public open spaces, and would like to gauge your support.

This consultation is about the proposal to plant four trees on Trumpington Meadows, adjacent to Byron's Pool, and up to 40 trees along Fulbourn Road.
