Taxi licensing DBS check consultation
Consultation runs from
2 July 2018, 9:00am to 12 August 2018, 11:59pm
Introduction and background
We are responsible for licensing taxi drivers and proprietors in Cambridge. Our taxi licensing policy sets out the requirements for all parties in a clear and transparent manner so that we can carry out our licensing functions.
Taxi drivers are currently required to undergo an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check every three years. We encourage them to subscribe to the DBS Update service, and renew annually, so we can check their status online.
We are considering requiring drivers to subscribe to the DBS Update service, and want to hear what you think about the proposed change.
