Cambridge City Council

Romsey recreation ground community orchard consultation

Consultation open from 14 October to 11 November 2021.

A group of residents has asked us to let them plant and manage some fruit trees on Romsey recreation ground.

There are already many community gardens in Cambridge, and the proposal matches our commitments to increase the city’s tree canopy cover and biodiversity, so we have agreed to it.

Have your say

We want your opinions on whereabouts on the park we should plant the trees. To have your say, complete our short survey.

Romsey recreation ground community orchard survey

The consultation is open until 11 November 2021. Contact us at parks@cambridge.gov.uk if you have any questions about the survey or the proposal.

Next steps

We will review all responses to the survey. If there are any objections that we cannot resolve we will send them to the Executive Councillor for Open Spaces, Sustainable Food and Community Wellbeing.

Subject to the outcome of the consultation and stock availability, we expect to complete planting the new orchard by March 2022.
