Land North of Cherry Hinton Development Framework Supplementary Planning Document consultation

Consultation runs from

7 August 2017, 9:00am to 2 October 2017, 5:00pm

Introduction and background

The draft Supplementary Planning Document (SPD) takes the proposed allocation from the emerging Local Plans, and sets out a vision and framework to guide the development.

This draft SPD is intended to expand upon the allocations as well as the policies contained within the emerging Local Plans.  It provides a framework to help guide the preparation and assessment of future planning applications within the area.

Consultation information

In developing the draft development framework so far, the councils have been working with the landowners and local interest groups, and have held a series of workshops to discuss the options for development here. These workshops have informed the development of the development framework.

North of Cherry Hinton SPD workshop event record [PDF, 2.9MB] for these workshops has been produced.

If the draft SPD is agreed for consultation at committee the councils are expecting that consultation will commence on 7 August for eight weeks. This will be the opportunity for the wider public to engage with the proposals in the document.

You can make comments on the draft SPD by using our online consultation page, by emailing us at policysurveys@cambridge.gov.uk, or by writing to us.

If emailing or writing to us, it is recommended that you use the response form [RTF, 1MB], as it will help you direct your comments to the specific part of the SPD that you are interested in. The FAQ and Guidance note [PDF, 341kB] will also assist you.

  • 14 September at Hope Community Church, 55 High Street, Teversham, CB1 9AS, from 2 to 8pm

Next steps

Following the public consultation, we will consider all the representations submitted and make any necessary changes to the draft SPD.

The document will then go back to committee for approval and then be adopted as a SPD, as which it will form a material consideration which will be taken into account by Cambridge City Council and South Cambridgeshire District Council when determining any future planning applications for the area. Any proposals will have to comply with the policies in the emerging Local Plans.
