Consultation runs from 17 July 2018, 12:00am to 17 August 2018, 11:59pm
Introduction and background
We want to know what you think about a proposal to establish a colourful meadow of perennial flowers on Histon recreation ground this autumn.
The pictorial meadow mix combines both native and non-native flowers to provide months of colour for people and wildlife to enjoy.
The mixes have been successfully trialled in other local parks and proved very popular with local people, as well as pollinating insects including butterflies and bumblebees.
Contact us to tell us whether you support the proposal. Include any specific comments such as if, for example, you would support the idea but in a different location.
The consultation leaflet includes a simple form that you can print and return to us, or use email if you prefer.
If you have any questions about this consultation, contact Streets and Open Spaces at firstname.lastname@example.org or 01223 458532.
Post any correspondence to Streets and Open Spaces, Cambridge City Council, PO Box 700, Cambridge CB1 0JH.
If the proposal is supported we will seek to install the meadow in October 2018.
Installation will involve removal of the existing grass turf and replacing it with a pre-grown wildflower turf.
