Have your say on the future of Coldham's Common

Update

We received 704 responses to this consultation, including 21 from representatives of local groups and organisations.

A draft management plan will be prepared for approval at the July 2014 Environment Scrutiny Committee for a second stage of stakeholder consultation prior to adoption.

Consultation runs from

15 November 2013, 12:00am to 28 February 2014, 11:59pm

Introduction and background

Coldham's Common is an important open space that we know means a lot to residents of Cambridge, especially those who live nearby.

For some people it's an important place to exercise, for others it's a historic landscape, or a valuable environmental asset to the city.

We're looking at a range of options for managing the common, and we need to know what local residents and site users think.

Additional information and documents

In order to fully understand the impacts of future management on the important wildlife associated with the common, we commissioned a botanical survey by the local Wildlife Trust. This report provides a list of their findings and includes recommendations to protect and enhance the sites biodiversity. These recommendations will be considered alongside views of consultees when drafting the management plan for the site.

Next steps

We will consider all responses and use them to develop a management plan for Coldham's Common.
