Introduction and background

Following the introduction of the Statutory Regulators Code, the council reviewed and updated its enforcement policy which was then adopted at Strategy and Resources Scrutiny Committee in October 2014.

The policy is to be reviewed every 3 years, and will be adopted at Strategy and Resources Committee in October 2017. The main change to the policy is the extended option of issuing Fixed Penalty Notices for certain offences.
