Introduction and background
Cambridge Investment Partnership (CIP) is proposing to redevelop the existing flats of 66 - 80b, Colville Road to form 69 new affordable homes.
The scheme has been carefully considered for some time and has been designed in line with comments and pre-application discussions with planning officers at the Council.
Additionally, consultations have been ongoing with the existing residents of the blocks to be demolished.
We are now seeking comments from the public and local community to gain any feedback which can be considered in the design, before submitting the planning application to the Local Authority.
The development proposals have been developed by Cambridge Investment Partnership (CIP), an equal partnership between Cambridge City Council and Hill Investment Partnerships. CIP is supporting the council in delivering 500 new affordable homes across the City by developing council owned land. These proposals at Colville Road will help contribute towards this target.
The proposed development will see the comprehensive redevelopment of existing 3 storey flats at 66 - 80b Colville Road, which will be demolished and replaced with 69 new affordable homes.
The existing buildings will be replaced by high quality, energy efficient and wheelchair accessible homes meeting the latest standards. The new homes will be predominantly 1 and 2 bedroom dwellings including 6 houses and 63 apartments ranging from 2 to 4 storeys in height.
The scheme will include facilities for vehicle and cycle parking and the new development will benefit from additional planting as part of a landscaping scheme.
