Cambridge City Council

71 to 73 Fen Road redevelopment proposal consultation

This consultation is open from 9 December 2020 to 11.55pm on 6 January 2021.

We propose to build 12 environmentally friendly council-rented homes on the site of 71 to 73 Fen Road.

The houses will each have private gardens and parking spaces with charging points for electric vehicles. Two of the homes will be adapted for wheelchair users.

The project also includes replacing the footpath between Fen Road and the Five Trees open space with a safer and more welcoming tree-lined path. Five Trees will not be affected by the redevelopment.

The Cambridge Investment Partnership (CIP), which we own with Hill Investment Partnerships, is leading the project. They have appointed Concilio to conduct the consultation.

Have your say

The CIP has set up a website for the redevelopment project and consultation process:

You can read more detail about the proposal and have your say on this website.

The consultation closes at 11.55pm on 6 January 2021. If you have any questions about it or about the proposal, contact us at or 0800 193 1869.

We’re hosting a webinar at 6pm on Wednesday 16 December, where we’ll discuss the proposal and answer your questions. You can register to attend the webinar on the consultation website.

Please send us your questions before the webinar if you can, although we will try to respond to any asked during the event as well.

Next steps

The CIP will analyse and summarise your responses and include them in a report to the Housing Scrutiny Committee meeting on 19 January 2021.

If councillors approve the proposal, we will apply for planning permission in March 2021.
