Consultation on taxi licensing fees, 2019 to 2020

Open from 26 October to 22 November 2018.

Introduction and background

Under the Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1976, Cambridge City Council has the authority to levy certain charges in respect of Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Licensing.

Cambridge City Council has undertaken an exercise to review the charges which it makes for all of the licenses for which it is the responsible authority.

During the fee review exercise, the Council has ensured that the basis for which those charges are made is correct and soundly based in law. Furthermore, the Council is required to cover its costs for administering licenses.
