When you enter any of the above car parks:

  1. Press the help button next to the Blue Badge symbol on the ticket machine as you enter the car park.
  2. You'll be asked to give details of your Blue Badge so our staff can issue you a discounted parking ticket.
  3. When you're ready to leave, you must visit a pay station to pay for any extra time you have been in the car park and validate your ticket.
  4. Insert your ticket at the barrier on exit.

Blue badge parking at the Grand Arcade car park only

  1. Return to your car to collect your Blue Badge from your windscreen.
  2. Take it to any pay station and follow the instructions.  The machine will scan the bar code on your Blue Badge to ensure it's valid and automatically deduct 3 hours off the parking fee.

If you've stayed less than 3 hours your ticket will be returned to you to allow free exit.
If you've stayed over 3 hours you'll need to pay the fee shown on the screen, then your ticket will be returned to you

  3. Insert your ticket at the barrier on exit.

If you still have the old style non bar coded badge:

  1. Return to your car to collect your Blue Badge from your windscreen.
  2. Insert your ticket into the pay station and press the help button.
  3. The attendant will ask for details of your Blue Badge and apply the concession.
  4. Insert your ticket at the barrier on exit.

The discount is available 24 hours a day at Grand Arcade only.

Blue Badge parking in Pay and Display car parks

Parking for Blue Badge holders is free for the first 3 hours at Castle Hill and Riverside pay and display car parks.

  1. Display your Blue Badge and time clock clearly on the dashboard before you leave your car to get 3 hours free parking.
  2. If you're staying for longer than 3 hours, you must buy a ticket from the machine for the extra time. This ticket must then be displayed with your Blue Badge clock. Civil enforcement officers checking the car parks will know to add together the time you have paid for and the 3 hours of free time.

Parking for Blue Badge holders is free for the first 2 hours at our Adam and Eve Street and Gwydir Street pay and display car parks.

  1. Display your Blue Badge and time clock clearly on the dashboard before you leave your car to get 2 hours free parking.

Renewing or applying for a blue badge

The scheme operates throughout the UK, and is administered in Cambridge by Cambridgeshire County Council.
