800th Midsummer Fair With Market
2011 is the 800th anniversary of Midsummer Fair, making it one of the country's
oldest travelling fun fairs. Look out for special anniversary attractions.
The fair features some of the best rides including dodgems,
roundabouts, rollercoasters and ghost trains, as well as all
the usual fun of the fair including candy floss, hot dogs,
toffee apples and more, this is a great outing, whatever your age!
Wednesday 22 June
2.30pm - 11.00pm
The first day of the fair see the Mayor and other
members of the Council continuing the age old tradition of parading and
proclaiming the Fair open by scattering pennies to the crowd.
Come
down at 6.30pm on the opening Wednesday evening for a truly special and
historical spectacle.
Royston Town Brass
Band lead the procession.
