The weekend starts with some superb swing music and a spectacular fireworks
display on Friday night.
MAIN STAGE
What better way to start the Big Weekend than with a warm summer evening
of Swing music from two great bands,
THE
KINGS OF SWING and
DYNAMO’S
RHYTHM ACES. Between them you can enjoy a magical journey back to the
era of Frank Sinatra, Bobby Darin, Tony Bennett and Doris Day and also a
bit of swing with a twist as Dynamo’s Rhythm Aces entertain with their
unique versions of hits from the likes of Prince, The Smiths, Beastie Boys
and Ian Dury!

Friday also features a bar marquee, the ever-popular French
Market (open from 12-10pm), fairground rides and food stalls.
FIREWORKS
The day finishes in spectacular style with the Big Weekend Fireworks Display
at 10.00pm
Please note a change for 2008: The Big Weekend Fireworks Display take place
on FRIDAY night this year at 10.00pm
