COUNCIL

The Council consists of all 42 members and will set the budget and agree major strategies and plans.

THE EXECUTIVE

The Executive consists of seven Councillors, including the Leader and Deputy Leader and the Executive Councillor for each major service area.

SCRUTINY COMMITTEES

Scrutiny Committees consist of non-executive Councillors; their composition reflects the political balance of the Council. They advise the Executive Councillors and review their decisions.

REGULATORY COMMITTEES

The Regulatory Committees consider planning applications, licensing matters, elections, employee and administrative issues.

STANDARDS COMMITTEE

The Standards Committee comprises 6 Councillors and 2 External Members, who are City residents, appointed by Councillors.
