FOR THE
INFORMATION OF THE COUNCIL
01/m/103
APOLOGIES
There were no apologies for absence. Councillors Dixon, Hipkin, Knowles and T Schofield did not attend as they had been present at a previous hearing of the case in question after which the Licence-holder concerned had requested a new hearing before a different panel of councillors.
01m/104 DECLARATIONS
OF INTEREST
There were no declarations of interest.
01/m/105 EXCLUSION OF THE PUBLIC
Resolved (with no votes against) that the public be excluded from the meeting
for the next item on the grounds that if they were present there would be
disclosure to them of information defined as exempt from publication by
paragraphs 7 and 14 of Part I of Schedule 12a of the Local Government Act 1972.
01/m/106 STANDING OF AN INDIVIDUAL’S TAXI
LICENCES
The Head of Transport Services presented a
report which requested the Sub-Committee to review the standing of an
individual’s Hackney Carriage Driving Licence and Hackney Carriage Vehicle
Licence in the light of his conduct and behaviour as identified in the
report. This matter had been deferred
from a meeting on 9 May 2001.
The individual concerned attended with two
legal representatives. They addressed
the Sub-Committee and answered questions.
Resolved that
1)
The Hackney
Carriage Driving Licence held by the individual named in the report be revoked,
on the grounds that he is not considered to be a fit and proper person to hold
the Licence.
2)
No action be
taken in respect of the recommendation to remove the Hackney Carriage Vehicle Licence held by the individual.
The
meeting ended at 5.45pm.
