CONSIDERATION OF COUNSEL’S OPINION AND ENFORCEMENT ACTION
The Director of Environment and Planning’s
report reminded members of the decision at the previous meeting on 30 May 2001
which agreed that Counsel’s opinion be sought in respect of the installation of
telecommunications equipment in the form of replica telegraph poles at three
sites in the city by Orange Personal Communication.
Counsel’s advice was appended to the report
and members were asked to consider this and the need for review of the current
policy to allow telecommunications development in the form of replica street
furniture to be considered under the prior approval procedure set out in
paragraph 24 of the General Permitted Development Order.
