Area Committees

The Council and Executive
Councillors have delegated a number of decisions to the four Area Committees
shown below. These decisions relate to the geographical area covered by a
committee and include some regulatory decisions, such as local planning
applications. Area Committees will bring decision-making closer to local
people. They are open to the public and structured
in a way that encourages public participation. Representatives of other organisations
that can help tackle local problems, such as police officers, will be invited
to participate. On some occasions an Area Committee might have a theme for a
meeting and people with knowledge of the
theme will be invited to participate. |
Area Committees comprise City
Councillors from the following wards.
North:
Arbury, King’s Hedges, East Chesterton, West Chesterton
East:
Abbey, Coleridge, Petersfield, Romsey
West/Central: Castle, Market, Newnham
South:
Cherry Hinton, Queen Edith’s, Trumpington
