1. TO CONSIDER THE FOLLOWING RECOMMENDATION OF THE CIVIC AFFAIRS COMMITTEE HELD ON 5 MAY 2004:

That Cambridge City Council, in recognition of the outstanding work for, and contribution to the life of the City of Cambridge by, Sir Arthur Marshall, OBE, DL

• As Chairman of the Marshall of Cambridge Group of Companies from 1942-1989
• As Founder of No. 104 (City of Cambridge) Squadron Air Training Corps
• For his unique contribution to RAF Pilot Training during the Second World War
• For his other contributions to aviation and the motor industry for nearly 100 years
• For the creation of many thousands of jobs which he brought to the City
• And for the foundation of the D G Marshall Charitable Trust which is active in the local community

Hereby admits him to be an Honorary Freeman of the City of Cambridge

(Granting the Freedom of the City requires two thirds of the members present and voting to vote in favour)
