16 DELEGATION OF AUTHORITY
The management of the Taxi
Licensing function has recently transferred to the Head of Environmental Health
and Waste Strategy. It is therefore
recommended that the Licensing Committee agree that the delegation transfers to
the HEHWS as follows:
Para 9.9.2. Delegations to Director of Environment and
Planning.
Powers delegated by the
Licensing Committee.
Delete item related to Hackney Carriages, Private Hire
Vehicles and Trishaws.
Para 9.9.3. Delegations to Head of Environmental Health
and Waste Strategy.
Powers delegated by the
Licensing Committee.
Hackney
carriages, private hire vehicles and trishaws except:
the
suspension of a driver’s or a vehicle licence, unless the driver or proprietor
of the vehicle, as appropriate, is informed of the right to appeal to the Taxi
Regulation Sub-Committee within 14 days. (In the event of such an appeal, it shall be heard
within 7 days of receipt of the appeal.)

The date of the
next meeting for Licensing Committee is scheduled for
Thursday 3 June
2004 at 2.00 pm.

You are welcome to attend this meeting as an
observer.

Members of the
public who wish to speak in objection to an application and who have put the
objections in writing to the Head of Environmental Health and Waste Strategy within
the specified period, must contact the Committee Manager by noon on the day
before the Committee. Each speaker is
allowed a maximum of 5 minutes. Further
details can be received by contacting the Committee Manager.

In the event of the fire alarm sounding (which is a continuous ringing sound), you
should pick up your possessions and leave the building by the route you came
in. Once clear of the building, you should assemble on the pavement opposite
the main entrance to the Guildhall and await further instructions. If your
escape route or the assembly area is unsafe, you will be directed to safe areas
by a member of Cambridge City Council staff.
