1          OPEN FORUM 

 

Members of the public are invited to ask any question, or make a statement on any matter related to their local area covered by the City Council Wards listed above.

 

The Forum will last up to 30 minutes, but may be extended at the Chair’s discretion. The Chair may also time limit public speakers to ensure as many are accommodated as practicable.

Members of the committee are asked to declare any interests in the items on the agenda.

In the case of any doubt the advice of the Head of Legal and Democratic Services should be sought before the meeting.

 

PUBLIC SPEAKING RULES – relating to items or reports to committee  5, 6 and 7, if you wish to ask a question or make a statement to the committee please contact the committee officer before the meeting starts.  You will have up to three minutes to put your question or make a statement, with an opportunity of a further two minute supplementary.

On Planning applications the  rules are slightly different and are shown under the item heading.

 

5          DATES, LOCATIONS AND TIMES OF FUTURE MEETINGS OF EAST AREA     COMMITTEE (Committee Manager Tel: 457012)

 

The last remaining scheduled date for the East Area Committee is Thursday 15 April 2004.

 

The following dates are suggested for the remainder of the year and beginning of 2005. In considering dates and times of meetings, members are asked to take into account the options of setting at least one meeting date on a Saturday and varying the time of other meetings so they can start at 7.00pm.

 

Members have expressed their view that the Area Committees should be held in different wards or in locations which are easily accessible to residents of several wards.

Direct clashes with other meetings of the Council have been avoided as much as possible but  some dates co-incide with meetings held earlier on the same day.

 

Members will be asked to consider:

1                    the dates shown and whether they wish to meet on a Saturday morning on at least one occasion a year.

2                    the time of the meeting so that they begin at 7.00pm rather than as now, at 7.30pm.

3                    the locations of meetings, bearing in mind the views that they have expressed and the need to provide a serviceable venue.
